This position is responsible for identifying and filling in service gaps, designing process improvements, and implementing best practices to ensure the smooth and efficient movement and storage of temperature-sensitive goods. Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement and Optimization:
- Lead efforts to evaluate and improve existing cold chain processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the cold chain logistics processes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deploy best practices for handling and transporting temperature-sensitive products across various stages of the supply chain.
- Design, implement, and monitor standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for cold chain operations, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Oversee the integration of new technologies and systems that support cold chain management, such as real-time temperature monitoring, tracking systems, and automation tools.
- Collaborate with IT, warehousing, transportation, and customer service teams to ensure seamless integration of processes across the supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDP, GMP, FDA, EU regulations) and industry standards related to cold chain logistics.
- Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure that temperature-sensitive products are handled, stored, and transported in accordance with required conditions.
- Regularly audit cold chain operations and processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), process performance, and the status of ongoing projects.
- Use data-driven insights to drive decision-making and process refinements.
- Provide training and support to staff and stakeholders on new or revised processes, systems, and compliance standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employees to identify opportunities for innovation and operational enhancement.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, carriers, and customers, to align operational processes with business goals and customer expectations.
- Act as the main point of contact for any process-related issues, resolving conflicts and driving timely, effective solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in process improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen) are a plus.
- 5 years of experience in operations management, process optimization, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in cold chain logistics or temperature-sensitive supply chains.
- Demonstrated experience in process design, operational strategy, and cross-functional collaboration in a logistics or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with cold chain standards and best practices, including temperature monitoring, risk management, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDP, GMP, FDA).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully implementing process changes.
- Knowledge of logistics management software, ERP systems, and cold chain technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and levels of the organization.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with automation and digitalization in cold chain logistics.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and certifications in the pharmaceutical, food, or healthcare sectors.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying issues and solutions.
- Ability to lead teams through change and inspire a culture of continuous improvement.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring high operational standards.
- Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to balance operational needs and customer expectations effectively.
- This role may require occasional travel to various facilities and operational sites.
