Senior Process and Operations Manager

Job Summary

SeaCube is expanding our company and forming new business unit to provide portable cold storage solutions to our customers. This position will be critical to the success of the start-up and growth of this company. Growth will come from both organic development and M&A.

The Process and Operations Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving project management, operational excellence, process optimization, and continuous improvement across all aspects of cold chain logistics. This position is responsible for identifying and filling in service gaps, designing process improvements, and implementing best practices to ensure the smooth and efficient movement and storage of temperature-sensitive goods. The role requires a deep understanding of logistics operations, cold chain standards, and process management principles to maintain compliance, minimize risks, and enhance overall service quality.

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement and Optimization:

• Lead efforts to evaluate and improve existing cold chain processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the cold chain logistics processes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deploy best practices for handling and transporting temperature-sensitive products across various stages of the supply chain.
  
  

Operational Development

• Design, implement, and monitor standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for cold chain operations, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Oversee the integration of new technologies and systems that support cold chain management, such as real-time temperature monitoring, tracking systems, and automation tools.
• Collaborate with IT, warehousing, transportation, and customer service teams to ensure seamless integration of processes across the supply chain.
  
  

Compliance And Quality Control

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDP, GMP, FDA, EU regulations) and industry standards related to cold chain logistics.
• Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure that temperature-sensitive products are handled, stored, and transported in accordance with required conditions.
• Regularly audit cold chain operations and processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.
  
  

Data Analysis And Reporting

• Analyze operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, and areas for improvement.
• Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), process performance, and the status of ongoing projects.
• Use data-driven insights to drive decision-making and process refinements.
  
  

Training And Development

• Provide training and support to staff and stakeholders on new or revised processes, systems, and compliance standards.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employees to identify opportunities for innovation and operational enhancement.
  
  

Collaboration And Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, carriers, and customers, to align operational processes with business goals and customer expectations.
• Act as the main point of contact for any process-related issues, resolving conflicts and driving timely, effective solutions.
  
  

Education

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in process improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen) are a plus.
  
  

Experience

• 5 years of experience in operations management, process optimization, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in cold chain logistics or temperature-sensitive supply chains.
• Demonstrated experience in process design, operational strategy, and cross-functional collaboration in a logistics or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with cold chain standards and best practices, including temperature monitoring, risk management, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDP, GMP, FDA).

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully implementing process changes.
• Knowledge of logistics management software, ERP systems, and cold chain technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with automation and digitalization in cold chain logistics.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and certifications in the pharmaceutical, food, or healthcare sectors.
