Position Summary:
The Social Catering & Events Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and coordination of all guest and member events, entertainment, and activities across The Seagate Beach Club, The Seagate Golf Club, and The Seagate Hotel. This role focuses on delivering high-impact events, social catering experiences, and resort programming to elevate member engagement and enhance the overall guest experience.
Reporting to the Director of Membership Experiences & Catering, this position is pivotal in developing and implementing creative events, holiday programming, and partnership-driven experiences while supporting catering sales and execution. The ideal candidate thrives in creating immersive, luxury experiences that foster community, enhance resort-wide programming, and drive revenue through social catering and membership events.
Responsibilities:
- Event Planning, Execution & Programming

Develop, coordinate, and execute a robust annual event calendar that includes:
- Signature member events (gala dinners, wine tastings, club socials)
- Holiday celebrations (New Year's Eve, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, themed seasonal events).
- Resort-wide programming (wellness retreats, culinary classes, live entertainment, kids’ activities).
- Social catering functions (private events, member milestone celebrations, weddings).
- Collaborate with club and resort departments (F&B, Spa, Recreation, Catering, Marketing) to ensure seamless execution of events and activities.
- Create and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event resumes for all programs and ensure all departments are aligned on execution.
- Support and develop planning related to the annual special events and holiday calendar, ensuring all plans are finalized by November for the following year.
- Oversee on-site event management, including guest check-in, vendor coordination, and event flow.
- Work with external partners, entertainers, and vendors to enhance event experiences and curate unique offerings.
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Assist in driving catering sales and event bookings through proactive outreach and relationship building.
- Respond to all event inquiries within 24 hours, guiding clients through the planning process to maximize revenue and engagement.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including private events, corporate functions, and social catering.
- Analyze competitive offerings to enhance The Seagate’s event and activity portfolio, ensuring our experiences remain industry leading.
- Create targeted marketing plans in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team to drive participation in resort activities and special events.
- Member & Guest Engagement
- Act as a primary point of contact for members and guests regarding social events, activities, and special programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with club members, understanding their preferences and curating events that foster engagement and retention.
- Maintain and manage the member database, tracking participation trends and event feedback for continuous improvement.
- Serve as a communications liaison between departments to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of event details across all properties.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking related to events, catering revenue, and resort programming.
- Ensure all correspondence related to event planning aligns with The Seagate’s branding and luxury service standards.
- Track event registration, guest lists, and post-event follow-ups, ensuring continuous engagement and loyalty building.
- Assist the Director of Membership Experience & Catering with administrative needs to support the overall operation of Catering & Events. Supporting tasks such as creating contracts, beo’s, pre planning and any other requests.
- Attend weekly BEO and F&B meetings to align operational efforts across properties.
- Work closely with IT and AV to secure proper Audio/Visual equipment for events and ensure AV is managed.
Other Responsibilities
- Represent The Seagate at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions (MPI, NACE, Chamber of Commerce).
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with local businesses, influencers, and industry leaders to enhance event offerings.
- Assist with VIP and influencer hosting, showcasing The Seagate’s event capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with club policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Hospitality, Event Management, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning, catering sales, or resort programming within a luxury hotel, resort, or private club.
- Strong expertise in event logistics, programming, and guest engagement strategies.
- Proficiency in event management software (Delphi, Allseated, Club Essentials, Jonas).
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven ability to drive revenue through events and catering.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Marketing and communication experience for event promotion and outreach.
- Ability to manage multiple high-profile events simultaneously, ensuring premium execution and guest satisfaction.
- Luxury hospitality experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekends, evenings, and holidays based on event needs.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment with both indoor and outdoor event execution.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during events.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. when assisting with event logistics.
