Seattle Colleges is looking to hire three New Student Orientation Interns in the Seattle Promise departments at North, Central, and South Seattle College.
Salary Range for this position is $52,000 annually ($25.00/hour).

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Campus Director for Student Retention, the New Student Orientation (NSO) Intern will be responsible for New Student Orientation event planning support at one of the Seattle Colleges (North, Central, or South Seattle College). This position will assist the Seattle Promise and college First Year Experience departments with planning and coordinating various orientation activities including campus tours, information fairs, social experiences, and informational workshops and panels. The position will support student engagement, resource development, and communication in support of an effective new student orientation experience. We are hiring three NSO interns for the 2025 year and interns will be expected to work and collaborate together with development and implementation of events.
This position supervises 3-5 student workers who work 8-10 hours per week.
This position is part-time, working 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between normal business hours of 8am-5pm. The position is expected to work at least two days per week on campus, and remaining days may be on campus or telecommute at supervisor's discretion. Interns must provide their own computer and internet access for telecommute options. The term of employment for this internship is April 1 through September 19, 2025. The department is open to a later start date for applicants who need to begin after April 1 and final start date will be negotiated upon offer of the position.

What you will be working on:
Attend weekly New Student Orientation Planning meetings with the Seattle Promise leadership team.
Attend weekly New Student Orientation Planning meetings with the Seattle Promise and college First Year Experience team.
Complete FERPA training through Seattle Colleges.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate 3-5 student workers to support NSO planning and implementation.
Assist in the refinement of a culturally-responsive and inclusive on-campus event for first-year college students, including but not limited to Seattle Promise first year students.
Professionally represent the Seattle Colleges.
Work closely with Seattle Promise leadership, staff, and college FYE staff to develop NSO events in alignment with established learning outcomes.
Support college vendor relations for NSO activities.
Support refinement of the NSO curriculum.
Support logistics management for NSO events pre, during, and post-event.
Make recommendations for student-facing communication tactics related to NSO events.
Attend other planning meetings as needed, on campus and virtually.
Attend, support, and provide leadership at NSO events in August and September at the Seattle Colleges (North, Central, and South Seattle College).

Current graduate student in good academic standing with the University who plans to enter higher education as a profession.
Ability to travel to and from Seattle College campuses (North, Central, and South Seattle College).
Available to work on-campus at least 10 hours per week April through June (may work up to 10 hours per week remotely if individual provides their own computer and internet access); and available to work 20 hours per week on campus August 18-September 12.
