Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Full-Time Tenure Track Mathematics Faculty in the Mathematics Department.
Salary Range for this position is $85,365 to $101,099 annually (depending on experience).

The Seattle Central College Mathematics Department is a highly engaged faculty group energized by improving student outcomes for all students. The department offers more accessible and student-centered options including a guided self-placement tool, corequisite courses, and utilizes open educational resources (OER). The department supports and encourages faculty to be creative in the ways in which they support student learning including, for example, alternative grading systems and anti-racist teaching pedagogies.
There is (1) full-time, tenure-track position in the STEM-B division of Seattle Central College, beginning Fall 2025. Teaching responsibilities include all levels of mathematics including pre-college, corequisite, college level, applied math, and statistics courses. The Math Department intentionally balances instructional modalities such as in-person, hybrid, online (asynchronous), and supports the extensive use of technology. Class times vary and may include days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs. All full-time faculty are expected to be available to teach in-person classes, as needed.

- Designing and instructing courses in a manner that promotes student engagement and success for a racially and culturally diverse student population spanning a broad range of languages, identities, socioeconomic levels, and educational experiences
- Collaborating with colleagues to identify and close equity gaps, particularly with regard to race and ethnicity towards a goal of increasing student success and completion in mathematics
- Instructing in a variety of course types (e.g. pre-college, corequisite, college level, applied math, and statistics) and modalities based on the desire for the department to balance its offerings to meet student needs
- Continuously innovating inclusive and active learning experiences in response to assessment and evidence/data analysis
- Mentoring students and serving as a peer resource for faculty and staff
- Contributing to a collaborative and innovative department, division, college, and district by serving on committees including in leadership roles and staying actively involved in institutional initiatives
- Keeping current in trends in mathematics education and technology and engaging in professional development activities
- Engaging in curriculum and program development incorporating current educational theories and research, including how to serve historically excluded students
- Conducting ongoing curricular development, assessment, and revision that promotes effective learning
- Engaging in shared governance, including district-wide efforts to build an antiracist institution focused on action to advance access, retention, and success for our most marginalized and vulnerable students and employees

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
- Graduate degree in Mathematics OR in a closely related discipline that includes upper division and/or graduate level mathematics coursework by the end of June 2025
- History of working collaboratively with colleagues, teams, and other stakeholders to support educational growth and community building
- History of providing high quality innovative instruction in highly diverse settings
- Ability to communicate with students, faculty, and staff in a manner that supports student success
- Ability to create or modify curriculum that supports diverse student populations
- Ability to instruct in a variety of modalities
