What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Manager position at Seattle Theatre Group?
The House Manager will assist the Theatre Managers with all aspects of Show Production & Venue Operations all venues STG might be presenting in. Including, but not limited to: Production Advance, Day-of-Show Load In & Load Out, Front of House run-of-show Operations, Settlement, developing & Implementing Venue Policies & Procedures. This position earns $29.25 to $40.95/hour with a midpoint of $35/hour, plus medical, dental, vision, life, LTD and STD insurances, plus paid vacation, sick leave and holidays and a 403b with discretionary match.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage & assist with all aspects Show Production & Front of House Operations on night-of-show.
- See to all aspects of Tour or Companies needs and to be in direct contact with Tour / Company Manager via cell phone, email, in-person on day-of-show and to ensure the budgetary adherence of each show.
- Distribute and explain DOS production needs to all necessary parties.
- Assist with planning and execution of Venue Policies, Procedures & New Hire Orientation.
- Responsible for supervising all night-of-show Front of House Operations. Including but not limited to: Patron Ingress/Egress, Patron Service, ADA needs, Merch, Security, Seating, VIP & Ticketing.
- Ensures Artist’s Hospitality Rider is met by Concessionaire and within budget.
- Provide information to and monitors concessionaires, volunteers and contract house staff for highest quality of service to patron and artist.
- Daily checks to create a safe, clean, efficient & respectful work environment while exceeding Artist & Patron expectations.
- Ensures nightly settlements are completed and agreed to by all parties and conveyed to accounting in a timely manner.
- Service the needs of all rental clients while ensuring STG interests.
- Event Cash / receipts management.
- Maintains great working relationship with all vendors and partners.
- Ensures safety and security of the Paramount Theatre. Manages and implements emergency procedures as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed, with the flexibility to take on new roles or responsibilities as the company evolves.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Front & Back of House Theatre Operations, Procedures & Nomenclature.
- Computer literate and comfort in both Microsoft 365 with focus on Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently without supervision.
- Must possess a positive and “Can Do” attitude.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar supervisory position at comparable live music venue(s) preferred.
- Ability & willingness to work 15 hour days
- High level of Customer Service Skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Salary : $29 - $41
