The electrical/Hydraulic Technician works independently or as part of a team to assemble and wire components for industrial control panels and cabinets according to blueprints and wiring diagrams. You may be involved with mechanical assembly for Hydraulic units. The purpose of this job is to build machinery and associated equipment used primarily within industrial applications. Prepares and completes work orders by studying customer requirements, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Understands and applies knowledge of fluid power to the application, schematic or technical requirements to ensure product quality and design efficiency. All duties must be performed in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Responsible for building control panels and hydraulic units for automated systems.
- Consistent delivery of a positive customer experience as evident through minimal customer complaints and defect free construction
- Accountable to committed tasks including overtime as needed to complete projects
- Prioritize work schedule effectively
- Effectively read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings for assembly of industrial control panels and hydraulic units.
- Demonstrate proficient use of basic power and hand tools
- Read an interpret schematics and blueprints to complete the job
- Create standardization in cabinets where possible to ensure repeatable appearance and functionality
- Ability to work variable and flexible hours including overtime with minimal supervision
- Mechanical ability and mindset
- Strong interest in electrical systems
- Communicate any print inaccuracies to Supervisor
- Maintain clean shop/work area – Includes putting tools away, sweeping floor, and taking out garbage as a shared responsibility.
- May be required to perform Service calls when needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience
- Knowledge of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic assembly equipment;
- Knowledge of detailed and large scaled blueprints and schematics is a must;
- Utilizing hand and power tools. Torque wrenches, pneumatic drills, impact drills, laser measuring tools and more.
- Electrical knowledge is a plus;
- Machine building background is a plus;
- Must have the ability to distinguish between the colors of electrical wire
- Basic welding & fabrication skills preferred
- Good communication skills – verbal and written.
· Valid Driver’s License with ability to obtain a Chauffeur’s License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Temperatures can vary from cool to warm depending upon the season. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
