What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduling Coordinator position at Security Transport Services?
Job Summary:
Adhering to strict policies, procedures, laws and regulations, the Routing Coordinator oversees a system of safe and efficient route planning and scheduling for detainee transports.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensures efficiency of time and STS vehicles.
2. Establishes optimal trip routes, schedules and assigns to the Transport Agents.
3. Monitors road conditions, construction schedules, weather and adjusts routes accordingly.
4. Inspects routing methods and practices for quality control, efficiencies, and optimization.
5. Receive customer orders and enter information into order management system.
6. Transfers orders from order management system to routing system to create routes and assignment to a Transport Agent.
7. Ensure the customer order is correct and the necessary documentation to execute the order has been received and has been reviewed for a safe transport.
8. Maintains consistent communication with customers for scheduling, quality follow up and ensuring they are kept in the loop.
9. Makes arrangements for detainee housing during transport and ensures compliance with jail rules.
10. Monitors and ensures accuracy of system data and runs regular and special reports.
11. Provides feedback on Transport Agent performance.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent certification required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in a job-related major preferred.
2. Experience in transportation routing or dispatching is preferred.
3. Working in a corrections or law enforcement field is preferred.

2. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
3. Strong ability to creatively problem solve and the ability to discern routing problems before they occur, and provide solutions.
4. Ability to adapt to changing customer requests and unexpected field issues.
5. Strong understanding of geography.
6. Ability to work independently and in an ever-changing environment.
7. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
