Direct Support Staff Wanted

Looking for 1 or more one-to-one staff member(s) to provide in-home, community and respite care. Must be a fun-loving person capable of implementing functional living/behavioral programming for a wonderful 28-year-old male with autism. Al is a healthy, capable and active.
5’10” and 170lbs. Candidate must have the physical capacity to match and enjoy our son’s level of physical activity. Would prefer a skilled and experienced person with an interest in engaging in fun activities with efforts to increase his ability to communicate, however exceptions can be made for candidates willing and passionate about helping our son improve the quality of his life. Staff member will be provided with ongoing support and supervision as necessary.
- Might be perfect for a Registered Behavior Tech or someone interested in that.
WHERE: Monkton/Hereford Maryland (7 miles North of Hunt Valley) is home base. Al likes a variety of community activities: restaurants/take out, hiking and just being outside, Zoo, B & O
Museum and the like.
WHEN: Flexible schedule, availability would include weekday hours, weekends, evenings and/or occasional overnights.
GOALS: Increase functional communication and skills, try new fun things,
decrease loud vocalizations, minimize occasional mild self-injury and occasional mild physical aggression (i.e., wrist grabbing).
COMPENSATION: $25 per hour (based on experience and negotiable) plus mileage reimbursement at (Federal rate) $.585 per mile for travel on community-based outings (from our home and back). Two weeks paid time off.
REQUIREMENTS:
-2-3 references related to your work with individuals with autism
-Valid MD driver’s license, proof of auto insurance for a reliable vehicle
-Pass a criminal background check and drug screening
-Up to date Covid vaccine/booster
-Looking for long term employment!!!!
-CPR/First Aid and CMT (Certified Medication Technician) Please note CMT is not a major component of this job.**
