Description
Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing payroll for the office of the Seminole County Clerk of Court and Comptroller. This position is classified as non-exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Once satisfactorily completing the probationary period and initial training, this position will be remote.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Verifies time entry in electronic time keeping system and upload the payroll data into digital system to calculate wages and make payments.
- Ensures employees are paid correctly and on time.
- Ensures compliance with federal and state laws.
- Ensures compliance with the Clerk of Court and Comptroller Policy.
- Reviews and ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates entered by the Clerk of Court Human Resources Departments (HR), to include new hires, terminations, pension and changes related to pay rates.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Processes taxes and payments for employee benefits.
- Prepares reports for the finance department, upper management, etc. (journal Entries, quarterly 941 taxes, etc.)
- Addresses issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and management.
- Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
- Maintains confidential files.
- Processes income withholding orders - review, set up, continued maintenance for Child Support, IRS Levy's, Court Ordered Garnishments, etc., as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager or the Director of the Comptroller's Office and Clerk Finance.
