SERVICE COORDINATOR
PURPOSE: The Program Assistant monitors and facilitates the delivery of contractual services that provide social connections at the Senior Community Center. These services, Friendly Visits, Telephone Reassurance, Pet Meals on Wheels, Frozen Meals, and preventive health initiatives such as Bingocize, offer a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults. This Program Assistant reports to the County Aging Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor client services to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with the Office Administrator to secure the necessary volunteers for service delivery.
- Train and guide volunteers on providing services effectively and according to contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with staff to identify clients needing services offered through the various contractual programs.
- Conduct required assessments for clients needing services.
- Ensure that services are delivered to those who require and qualify for assistance.
- Complete and maintain all training and certifications applicable programs/services require.
- Coordinate with the County Aging Coordinator and/or Executive Director to schedule classes.
- Obtain necessary supplies for services and activities, with approval from the County Aging Coordinator or Executive Director.
- Establish partnerships with other organizations and vendors to secure donations to help sustain programs and services.
- Maintain required data regarding the number of services provided to clients.
- Carry out any additional tasks the County Aging Coordinator or Executive Director assigns.
This full-time position, 35 hours per week, offers five vacation days, five sick days, and paid holidays annually.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of two years of related work experience.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel; experience with social media is a plus.
- Experience or a strong interest in working with older adults.
- Demonstrated organizational skills in managing projects.
- Experience in managing volunteers and staff effectively.
- Must be personable, professional, attentive to detail, possess a strong work ethic, and work well with others.
- Must have a valid Kentucky driver’s license and be able to pass a background check.
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding the Senior Community Center and its clients.

CONTRACTUAL PROGRAMS/SERVICES MONITORED BY PROGRAM ASSISTANT
FRIENDLY VISITS: friendly visits are conducted by staff and volunteers for vulnerable shut-ins lacking other support systems.
TELEPHONE REASSURANCE: telephone reassurance calls are provided by staff and volunteers to vulnerable shut-ins lacking other support systems.
PET MEALS ON WHEELS: pet food, pet supplies, and subsidies for veterinarian services are provided to clients who receive Meals on Wheels or Congregate Meals and have requested assistance through the Pet Meals on Wheels program.
FROZEN MEALS: frozen weekend meals are provided to Meals on Wheels clients needing this additional nutritional support
BINGOCIZE (and Other Title IIID Programs): preventative health programs available to all interested clients
