The Business Office Manager is responsible for_ accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and benefits processing_. He/she processes employee paperwork and maintains files. Responds with a customer service orientation to accounting inquiries from residents, family members, department heads and vendors. He/she conducts themselves with the utmost professionalism, and maintains confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Perform, administer, and oversee the community accounting functions including but not limited to accounts receivable/collections, accounts payable, and management reports (40%)
- Accounts receivable duties include but are not limited to: preparing and sending resident billing statements, tracking daily census, making bank deposits.
- Accounts payable and receivable duties include ensuring that accounts are up to date, outside vendors are paid timely, and other related activities.
- Facilitates collections and coordinates resident move in, move out and transfer documentation.
- Manages employee benefit programs including communication to employees of plan details and eligibility requirements, ensuring timely enrollments and terminations from the plans and making certain that employee deductions are recouped.
- Maintain all aspects of employee files.
- Maintain and update all resident, personal and insurance files as indicated.
- Assists with processing medication orders and physician orders.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
· Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
· Freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
· Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in the position.
· Demonstrates effective time management skills.
· Must be 18 years of age.
· Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of assisted living and memory care, their needs and the competency to meet those needs on a consistent basis.
· Able to communicate ideas well.
· Able to question and listen to residents and coworkers for gaining understanding.
· Able to represent and promote activities and programs as a member of our team.
· Able to organize and manage both information and time effectively.
· Sufficient literary skills to read care plans and other procedures and to complete required reports.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or three (3) months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and caregiver experience desired. Medical office experience and medical terminology are a plus.
Successfully completed other state-required education / certification classes according to statute.
