Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance.
- Assist with medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed.
- Monitor and document patient observations, reporting any changes in condition to healthcare professionals.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those with autism or requiring hospice care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop personalized care plans that meet individual needs.
Skills
- Experience in hospice care or home health settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of patient care practices and caregiving techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with physical mobility tasks.
- Proficiency in medication administration protocols.
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and strategies for effective communication with individuals on the spectrum.
- Excellent observation skills to monitor patient conditions effectively.
- Compassionate demeanor with strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in home community care environments.
