Senior Scripts is a long term care pharmacy providing medications and clinical services to residents in assisted living and long term care facilities. We are currently hiring a full time collections and billing specialist.
Job Description
We are looking for a Full-Time Collection Specialist and Pharmacy Intake and Adjudicator in our Billing Department. The main focus of the postion is collections with a backup to our billing department for intake and adjudicating.
Work schedule is Monday thru Friday and a rotating Saturday every fifth week.
Duties and Responsibilities includes the following, other duties may be assigned.
- This position will review all patient accounts for past due accounts and make phone calls to collect by working directly with residents, families and facilities to obtain payments.
- Research past due accounts for proper billing and insurance coverage.
- Work with our attorney for severely delinquent accounts to collect.
- New patient intake - enter new patient information, including demographic and insurance information into pharmacy dispensing system.
- Reviews billing statements of facility, private pay, and hospice accounts for accuracy of charges from all special dispensing situations and requirements as specified in current policies and procedures.
- Work with designated contact at facility to ensure correctness of information.
- Follows all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.
- Work rejected, not covered, prior authorizations and refills too soon claims for all facilities supported by the pharmacy.
- Makes phone calls to insurance plans.
- Communicates via phone, e-mail, or fax to facility of reason for not sending medication.
- Works with facility staff to gather pertinent information needed to secure overrides or prior authorizations.
- Answers incoming customer phone calls in regard to invoices, insurance questions and payments.
Qualifications
- Experience in collections
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Knowledge or experience in pharmacy billing or medical billing
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with medical billing software i.e. Frameworks, is helpful
- Be dependable, reliable, a team player with a professional and positive attitude

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
