Domestic Violence Advocate Job Description
Job Description:
- Responsible providing supportive and advocacy services to program participants including but not limited to shelter assessments for adults and their children, program assessments, supportive services, referrals, emergency assistance, etc.
- Check in Salesforce all GLADV cases
- Responsible for answering helpline and completing required documentation.
- Responsible to assist in creating a positive cultural environment of personal leadership, communications and teamwork within outreach program and throughout the agency
- Responsible to maintain a working knowledge of resources and services available in the communities served to assist survivors.
- Responsible to network with medical professionals, court officers, school personnel, law enforcement, clergy and other professionals to encourage referrals.
- Responsible for publicizing available services, educate referral sources and increase service utilization within communities served.
- Responsible for documenting all information and submitting reports as required.
- Responsible to attend and participate in assigned agency meetings.
- Responsible for uploading all the information to the system (Salesforce)
- Responsible for checking all the information that is in Salesforce in each contact of a household
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work or related field or equivalent work or volunteer experience and training preferred.
- Knowledge of advocacy techniques for people who have been crime victims or domestic violence victims, including crisis intervention and case management skills beneficial.
- MUST BE bilingual English- Spanish
- Previous employment or volunteer work in human services, community agencies or other related nonprofit or social change organizations a plus.
- Good oral and written communication and computer skills are required. •
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must have a valid Driver's license.
Salary : $45,000
