What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent position at Seretta Construction?
Seretta Construction is a national industry leader in Tilt-Up and Commercial Concrete Construction. Operating out of Orlando, Florida, and Charlotte, North Carolina, we contract work throughout the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southwest. We are currently seeking a qualified person to fill the position of Purchasing Agent. This candidate must be able to multi task and work in fast pace environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- The ability to maintain and negotiate with vendors and receive favorable pricing
- Working closely with project managers to order materials needed
- Prepare purchase orders and run purchase order audits
- Issue subcontract’s to subcontractor’s
- Keep updated insurance on all the vendor’s and subcontractors
- Work with accounting to clear up issues in prices between the invoice and the purchase order
- Be very detailed oriented.
- Strong verbal and communication skills.
- Have experience in Sage 100 software is a plus.
- Strong follow-through skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite and ability to learn new processing systems
- Be a team player and work well with others
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- English is required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- At least four years of experience in purchasing of materials and equipment in the Construction Industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
