What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent position at Seretta Construction?

Seretta Construction is a national industry leader in Tilt-Up and Commercial Concrete Construction. Operating out of Orlando, Florida, and Charlotte, North Carolina, we contract work throughout the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southwest. We are currently seeking a qualified person to fill the position of Purchasing Agent. This candidate must be able to multi task and work in fast pace environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The ability to maintain and negotiate with vendors and receive favorable pricing
Working closely with project managers to order materials needed
Prepare purchase orders and run purchase order audits
Issue subcontract’s to subcontractor’s
Keep updated insurance on all the vendor’s and subcontractors
Work with accounting to clear up issues in prices between the invoice and the purchase order
Be very detailed oriented.
Strong verbal and communication skills.
Have experience in Sage 100 software is a plus.
Strong follow-through skills.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft suite and ability to learn new processing systems
Be a team player and work well with others
Performs other duties as assigned.

English is required.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma
At least four years of experience in purchasing of materials and equipment in the Construction Industry.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
