\n- Review product designs for feasibility and define the processing steps necessary for production.
- Determine the appropriate decorating technology to meet customer appearance and performance specifications.
- Provide input on injection mold tool designs to optimize processing and tool life.
- Develop cost-effective manufacturing processes and product layouts.
- Apply scientific molding principles to establish robust, repeatable production processes.
- Document processing instructions for molding and post-mold decorating activities.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and injection molding processes.
- Qualify potential molding partners for decorating experience and capabilities.
- Interact with customers (technical and business professionals) to determine project needs.
- Support product launches through the Serigraph APQP process, including DOE’s, process analysis, and capability studies.
- Contribute to the development of PFMEA’s, control plans, and Gauge R&R studies.
- Must be self-directed and flexible to work overtime, night shifts, and provide global support when necessary.
- Travel up to 10%, including international travel, as required.
- Ensure quality and stop production to correct quality concerns. Inform management of products and/or processes that do not conform to requirements.
- Ensure all environmental practices and materials are handled and disposed of per appropriate procedures in your area.
- Support Serigraph current quality business system and understand use of SPECS, the Serigraph quality manual.
- Undergraduate or associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Technology, or Material Science.
- Injection Molding Professional Program Certification (e.g., AIM Molder 3, RJG Master Molder II).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in injection molding press setup, process development, and operation
- Knowledge of good departmental and company safety/housekeeping/PPE practices.
- Understand departmental procedures and policies.
- Valid drivers license and passport.
- Three or more years of experience in decorative molding (in-mold decorating, in-mold labeling, multi-shot parts, pad-printing, etc.).
- Strong project engineering background.
- Robotics programming experience is a plus.
- Computer Skills:
- 3D CAD (for part and tooling design analysis).
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Project.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods.
- Experience with Mold Flow simulation.
