S:US is seeking a Clinical Supervisor for our adult family shelter in Manhattan.

This position is located at East 31 Street, New York, NY 10016

The Clinical Supervisor will:

• Provide social work interventions to remove psychosocial barriers to health and wellness.
• Collaborates with members of the healthcare team, the patient/family and community liaisons to assure patients’ psychosocial and socioeconomics needs are addressed wherever possible.
• Advocate for and empower patients to maintain a level of control over their health and wellness.
• Provide and maintain educational materials.
• Manage a specific case load of patients referred by clinic staff.
• Provide close monitoring of patients through follow up contacts and coordinate services with other providers as necessary.
• Provide crisis intervention; assess and coordinate protective service issues.
• Document interventions in patients’ medical records.
• Maintain knowledge of resources available in the area community.
• Maintain current in the field by attending seminars, continuing education courses, workshops, etc.
• Provide staff education.
• Develop clinical programs and materials.
• Interact with community agencies involved in health and social services, represent agency in meetings and events in the community.
• Promote positive working relationships with Social Service teams.
• Comply with all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures, and Protocols, SUS Corporate Compliance Policies, and NYS Dept. of Social Services Rules, Regulations, and Statutes.
• A work schedule that includes some weekend and evening hours is required.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse, designee or as required.

Qualifications

• Must be Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Candidates with a LMSW will be considered for the role. Candidate will be provided clinical supervison to get clinical hours to qualify for the LCSW
• Experience in residential setting strongly preferred. Experience in group work, tenant organization, intake and assessment, co-occurring disorders, community outreach, and program development strongly preferred.  
• Three to five years of supervisory experience in a large shelter or residential facility that provides comprehensive social services, housing placement, and job skills training to the homeless, mentally ill, and chemically dependent populations.
• Knowledge and experience in NYC Dept. of Homeless Services contract requirements preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.
