Operations Assistant
Take advantage of this unique opportunity to join the team at the Seward County Sheriff’s Office.
Starting wage: $20.54 or more per hour, depending on experience.
The Operations Assistant assists in productive and efficient management and functions of the Sheriff’s Office. The member performs administrative, operations, public relations, IT, and clerical tasks specific to the position. This position requires exercise of discretion, independent judgment and independent thought. The most important and essential job function of the position is attitude which includes the following: interacting positively and cooperating with co-workers, responding politely to citizens, working as a team member, functioning under intense time pressure and responding in a positive manner to supervision. The Operations Assistant does not have supervisory responsibilities at this time. Work is performed under the supervision of the Operations Manager with work reviewed in the form of reports, performance evaluations and compliance with Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, public administration, finance, computer technology, IT/computer programming, or related field
- At least one (1) year of experience in accounting, including reconciling accounts, monitoring account budget status, and completing transactional and informational reports.
- At least one (1) year of experience in IT/computer programming or a related area.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older, have a high school diploma or GED, able to legally work in the United States, have experience with computers and computer programming, have a valid Nebraska Driver’s License, must not have any convictions punishable by imprisonment in a federal or state penitentiary for one year or more unless pardon received, and must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
