Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the nursing department within our long-term care facility. The DON will lead the nursing staff, manage clinical operations, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards. This role requires strong leadership, extensive clinical knowledge, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Supervision: Oversee nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality resident care.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies, including infection control, resident rights, and safety standards.
- Resident Care Oversight: Monitor and assess resident care plans, coordinating with medical professionals to address specific care needs.
- Staff Management and Development: Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling of nursing staff. Promote continuing education and professional development.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the nursing department budget, optimizing resources for quality and cost-effective care.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated and effective care.
- Family and Resident Relations: Engage with residents and families to address concerns, ensure satisfaction, and support a positive environment.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and thorough records of resident care, staffing, and department performance.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Active RN license in NM
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree (MSN) or healthcare administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of [5 ] years in nursing, with [2-3] years in a supervisory or managerial role in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.
- Certifications: BLS certification; additional certification in nursing leadership (e.g., Nurse Executive Certification) preferred.

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
