Job Opportunity: Fleet Technician B
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, starting at 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
Compensation: Dependent upon experience.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Fleet Technician B to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on our fleet vehicles, including Truck Tractors, Trucks, Refrigerated Trailers, and other fleet vehicles. As a Fleet Technician, you will apply your expertise in the latest automotive technologies and work diligently to resolve any issues that arise, ensuring our vehicles are well-maintained and operational.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) on all fleet vehicles.
- Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty truck tractors, trucks, trailers, and reefer units.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble components such as diesel engines, transmissions, axles, and other truck and trailer systems.
- Conduct mobile fleet repairs on-site or perform emergency roadside repairs using a mobile repair vehicle.
- Clean assigned work area after each job.
- Wash and fuel trucks as needed.
- Perform basic facility repairs and maintain company tools.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment, reporting any safety concerns or unsafe tools to the supervisor.
- Drive tractor/trailers and trucks for test drives or to return vehicles to facilities.
- Properly use and maintain company tools, asking for guidance when necessary.
- Be available for overtime as needed.
- Provide and maintain all required hand tools and lockable toolboxes for the position.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education / Licensure:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- At least 1 year of related experience.
- Class A CDL license preferred, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
- Must meet the medical requirements set by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations as they relate to the shop and fleet.
- Ability to read and understand technical service manuals.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers and drivers.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency in operating and interpreting industry-standard diagnostic software for heavy-duty trucks, tractors, and trailers.

- Steady Hands: Ability to maintain steady hands while working on intricate or heavy components for extended periods.
- Flexibility: Ability to reach and maneuver into tight spaces, including frequent bending, stretching, and twisting.
- Strength: Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. frequently.
- Oral Communication: Effective communication with internal customers and team members to diagnose and explain vehicle issues.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to evaluate situations logically and determine the best solution, such as whether to repair or replace a part.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow detailed instructions and focus on the accuracy of repairs.
- Safety: A strong focus on safety protocols to protect yourself, coworkers, and customers from potential hazards.
Work Environment:
- The work environment includes physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, bending, and lifting in varying temperatures and loud environments. Must be prepared to work with potentially hazardous materials and noisy equipment.
