What are the responsibilities and job description for the Circulation Services Assistant position at Shaker Heights Public Library?
Shaker Heights Public Library is seeking an organized, flexible team player with a commitment to outstanding customer service to assist at the lending desk, charge and discharge circulation materials, process passport applications and perform other clerical duties. We are a busy, diverse, inner-ring suburban library with two buildings. Must enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds in a lively environment.
High school diploma and experience in library or customer service work (or equivalent), positive attitude, strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills required. Must be able to multi-task, lift and move light to medium weights, stoop, kneel, and work while standing at times. Ability to become certified as a Passport Acceptance Agent is required.
Hours: Half-time, 20 hours per week. This year round position works a variety of morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours.
