Pay Range: $68,640 annually
Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Position Overview
Team Teal is seeking to hire a Group Sales Account Executive that embraces all aspects of our principles. Key responsibilities include generating group ticket sales revenue by way of strategic sales efforts for the Sharks, Barracuda, and SAP Center Arena Events. Group Sales AEs will also be tasked with achieving established San Jose Sharks season ticket, partial plan and suite hospitality products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use independent judgement and strategic thinking to maximize ticket revenue by way of new business and renewal efforts for the Sharks and Arena events, including group ticket packages, fan experiences and hospitality spaces.
- Responsible for the oversight, development and management of Sharks youth, amateur and adult hockey ticket initiatives to leverage and maintain revenue opportunities.
- Maximize new business opportunities through aggressive personal prospecting and lead generation efforts.
- Collaborate heavily with Sharks Ice, NorCal Hockey Association, California Amateur Hockey Association and other regional resources to invent ticketing initiatives to leverage revenue opportunities.
- Responsible for the oversight, development and management of Sharks youth, amateur, adult, adaptive, roller & floor hockey initiatives to leverage and maintain associated revenue opportunities.
- Create customized youth hockey group outing packages by leveraging the San Jose Sharks fan experience packages including Blue Line Buddies, Kaiser Intermission Ice Shoot Out and Rink of Dreams ice rentals, private SAP Center dark day rentals, private meeting spaces and premium hospitality.
- Represent the Ticket Sales & Service team at local tournaments and on-site interactions with youth hockey leadership (as organized by Sharks Ice, CAHA and NorCal Hockey Association).
- Meet and exceed required activity metrics including outbound calls, client meetings, personal prospecting and others as assigned.
- Aggressively pursue up-sell and new business opportunities to generate premium suite rental revenue.
- Handle in-bound sales calls from prospective and current ticket holders.
- Work Sharks, Barracuda, SAP Center & Tech CU Arena events as assigned.
- Perform additional tasks and projects, as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field or equivalent
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Use independent judgement and strategic thinking to maximize youth hockey ticket revenue by way of new business and renewal efforts for the Sharks and Arena events, including group ticket packages, fan experiences, and hospitality spaces
- Maximize new business opportunities for youth hockey and other categories as assigned through aggressive personal prospecting and lead generation efforts
- Generate ticket sales revenue by way of primarily youth hockey initiatives, as well as new and existing theme nights and initiatives
- Meet and exceed required activity metrics, including outbound calls, client meetings,
- Personal prospecting and others as assigned
- Aggressively pursue up-sell and new business opportunities to generate premium suite rental revenue
- Handle in-bound sales calls from prospective and current ticket holders
- Work Sharks, Barracuda and SAP Center Arena Events as assigned
- Perform additional tasks and projects as requested.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
- Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
- Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation
- Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
- May be required to travel to other company locations
- May be required to attend conference, events, and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations.
