Job Summary
Shelters of Saratoga is seeking a highly motivated person to serve as the agency’s development coordinator. In this role, you’ll work with the director of development to support the agency’s yearly fundraising and marketing initiatives. Are you goal oriented, adept at handling multiple deadlines, enjoy story telling, writing, and have excellent communication and attention to detail?
Responsibilities and Duties
Marketing
- Support fundraising initiatives with high quality written appeals for direct mail, email, blogs, and social media campaigns
- Develop high quality branded digital and print content to educate the community on our mission
- Manage all aspects of social media in accordance with the agency’s yearly initiatives and needs
- Monitor social media platforms for marketing and engagement opportunities
- Respond to inquiries on social media
Events and Fundraising
- Direct outreach to donors and community members to schedule meetings, ask for support or invite to events.
- Lead the coordination of the agency’s annual fundraising events:Vendor and volunteer coordination, schedule committee meetings, prepare agendas and minutes
- Prepare invitation mailing lists, coordinate mailings and email outreach
- Prepare attendee communications and assist with event logistics
- Track registrations and provide attendance reports
- Attend community events as an agency representative
- Provide support for and coordinate external fundraising events and outreach opportunities
Administrative Support
- Schedule and coordinate donor meetings and outreach opportunities
- Enter donor and gift information into database
- Provide proofreading and copy editing support
- Prepare and mail donor acknowledgements
- Coordinate committee meetings, agendas, and prepare and distribute minutes
- Prepare lists for stewardship activities
- Foundation and grant research
- Other duties as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 1-2 years in administrative, marketing or fundraising role
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient with Google Docs and Canva
- Working knowledge of social media and marketing communications
- Data entry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication
- Willingness to learn
- Flexibility to meet shifting work demands and the ability to multitask
- Can work independently and as a member of a team
