The IT Program Manager is responsible for a high-visibility delivery management role providing product, application and project leadership within the assigned program of our IT business. The Program Manager role will align with our Consumer Brands Group (CBG) business operating segment, helping us to build out and maintain our next-generation customer-facing applications and websites for well-known brands such as Valspar, HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams, Purdy, Krylon, Minwax, Thompson's WaterSeal, Cabot and many more.
The Program Manager will be responsible for aligning the portfolio of IT projects with the strategic objectives of the business. It will require collaboration with business and IT stakeholders and executive leadership to drive successful delivery. The manager will be responsible for organizing software delivery teams, optimizing resources within the assigned program, and ensuring continuity of communication across all stakeholders and projects teams. The Program Manager’s success will be tied to the overall success of team and the projects within the CBG digital portfolio.
This role will have direct reports of project managers and business analysts aligned to the same program. This role will include management of vendor relationships within the portfolio.

Essential Functions
Strategy & Planning
• Lead and support the vision and strategy for assigned area of the program, including project investments, associated business and functional requirements necessary to achieve defined business needs.
• Partner with IT development and architecture to deliver capabilities and projects against the program roadmap. Maintain line of sight into the next 6 months with majority of the focus in the 0- 3-month window. Must not lose sight of overall roadmap.
• Coordinate the delivery and execution of all projects within the area of the program and prepare the team for the execution of projects.
• Facilitate continuous improvement to help mature delivery process in the assigned program area.
• Awareness of all phases from discovery through completion including project reviews, feasibility, prioritization, initiation, execution, and long-term support for all project work related to the program.
• Develop a deep knowledge of the assigned program technology and business unit, build positive relationships both horizontally and vertically.
• Work closely with development managers and project managers to ensure resource allocation and forecasting for the program is appropriately staffed at all times.
• Assess dependencies, risk, impact, mitigation plans while viewing all projects within the program.
• Determine staffing and skills requirements.
Acquisition & Deployment
• Maintain effective working relationships with project team, peers, stakeholders and vendors to seamlessly integrate the program area into the overall strategic objectives and activities of the CBG digital portfolio.
• Manage the budget, contracts, schedule, and performance metrics of the program area.
• Manage vendor relationships within the program area including escalations, contracts, and delivery success.
• Provide alignment of the program to the goals and standards of the CBG Digital Portfolio.
• Support and provide direction to the team in determining the impact of new functionality to existing business processes and system functionality.
• Develop and lead a high performing team of project managers and business analysts providing direction, guidance, feedback and coaching to further develop team capabilities. Promote continuous improvement and culture of innovation.
• Work with Technology shared services teams to remove impediments and obstacles for improvement of product delivery and cycle time.
• Support, advise, and assist in resolving issues as needed.
• Drive toward successful completion of the agreed upon program deliverables within scope, time and budget with quality while consistently exceeding business expectations.
Operational Management
• Provide project visibility and reporting of projects within the program to the executive management team and steering committee.
• Be familiar with existing systems to track and manage requests and issues used by project team.
• Conduct HR management activities including recruiting, hiring, staffing, performance appraisals, and resource management activities.
• Drive strategic direction of the team.
Incidental Functions
• Responsible for hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy.
• Minimal travel is required.
• Work outside the standard office 7.5-hour workday may be required.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
• Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) or in lieu of a degree, at least 12 years in experience in the field of Information Technology or Business (work experience or a combination of education and work experience in the field of Information Technology or Business).
• PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI- ACP) preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
• 8 years of IT and/or business experience.
• 8 years of experience with IT or business analysis, project management, and/or program management.
• Supervisory experience or team responsibility a plus.
• 2 years of proven ability to successfully lead projects preferred.
• 5 years of hands-on experience managing large scale IT initiatives.
• Well versed in project management concepts, methodologies and tools.
• Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with external agencies, vendors or partners.
• Broad base of technology and business experience including strategy, design, implementation, operations for application development organizations.
• Experience with multiple large-scale projects, delivering enterprise class ecommerce platforms and/or content management platforms is desired.
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager is preferred.
• Solid understanding of native application development, ecommerce systems, content management, analytics, infrastructure, and QA automation tools.
