About the Job:
The Purchasing Manager's primary role is to manage inventory levels and cost to meet our goal of customer satisfaction. The Purchasing Manager oversees to the purchasing department to optimize inventory levels, inventory order replenishment, negotiate transactions and maintain vendor relations.
Key Accountabilities:
Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels, ensure accuracy of incoming product, and timely address incorrect, damaged or aged products Monitor and optimize inventory balance Manage Gross Margin Return on Investment and Days on Hand metrics to achieve targets Balance order volumes and on hand inventory with carrying costs, reorder costs and stock out costs Collaborate with Warehouse to support space optimization Implement buying controls Initiate inventory reviews Regularly audit and address aged inventory Collaborate with Warehouse to investigate inventory discrepancies Follow up on quality issues of incoming product Initiate returns to vendor where necessary Cost Management: Achieve annual cost saving goals and maximize gross margin by purchasing at lowest possible cost Contain/minimize cost increases Leverage volume to get better costs Explore lower cost alternatives Manage/optimize incoming freight costs Service Level: Maximize vendor relationships and sourcing options to achieve service level goals Collaborate with Merchandising department to evaluate vendor service levels and ensure delivery expectations are met Set vendor standards Regularly measure and follow up on vendor compliance Establish back-up vendors Manage on-time delivery metric to ensure timely receipt of requested product for our customers

Salary Transparency
The pay range for this position is $90,000-$110,000/year. Please note that the higher end of the pay range is reserved for candidates with extensive experience and qualifications that exceed the requirements of the role. Most new hires typically start at the beginning of the pay range, with opportunities for growth and increases based on performance and tenure.
This position offers the potential for an annual incentive of up to 10%, based on the achievement of departmental goals aligned with the company's strategic objectives and team performance targets. Please note that this incentive is not guaranteed and is contingent upon meeting predetermined milestones. Additional details about the program will be shared during the interview process or upon hire.

- Strategic Planning and Execution:

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

- Negotiations: Facilitating agreements between two or more parties
- Self-Management: Demonstrating self-control and an ability to manage time and priorities
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing/buying or inventory management role, experience managing a team preferred
- High aptitude for working with numbers and analyzing data
- 2-year or 4-year business degree
- Intermediate level computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Required to sit much of the day interfacing with phones, computers, and other office equipment in a normal office environment
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs
