Responsibilities
The Surgical Services Nursing Director provides leadership and direction for staff to support the hospital mission, vision, values, and plan for provision of patient care services. This position is accountable and responsible for planning, directing, organizing, and evaluating clinical practice, patient care, and operations of the department. The Director is responsible for all aspects of management of fiscal and human resources delegated to the department. Assures orientation, in-service, and continuing education for staff. Conducts studies to determine areas of performance improvement. Department goals are developed in collaboration with Director of Patient Care Services. Is an active member of the Nurse Executive Committee and Patient Care Services Committee. Participates in hospital committees as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
At least 3 years of operating room experience
At least 3 years of experience managing a perioperative department
Active RN license in state of South Carolina
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred:Master's degree in Nursing
3 or more years of experience with central sterile supply
3 or more years of experience in pediatric/orthopedic nursing
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification
