Role Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and customer-focused Director of Studios Products to lead the product management efforts for Shutterstock’s Studios Business Unit. This individual will play a critical role in developing innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of enterprise customers, with a focus on film production, custom media creation, live events, and marketing in visual and experiential mediums.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management and a deep understanding of the media and production space, including live assignments, red carpet events, and bespoke creative content services. This position requires exceptional leadership skills, a data-driven approach to decision-making, and a passion for delivering best-in-class solutions to meet evolving customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Leadership: Lead the strategy, development, and management of products and solutions for the Studios & Event Production Business Unit, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer requirements.
  • Market Expertise: Leverage industry expertise in film production, custom assignments, and event production to craft innovative and relevant products for enterprise customers.
  • Strategic Roadmap: Develop and maintain a clear and actionable product roadmap that prioritizes initiatives based on customer value, business impact, and operational feasibility.
  • Customer-Centric Solutions: Collaborate with Customer Advocacy, Marketing, and Sales teams to deeply understand customer pain points and opportunities, ensuring all products meet their needs effectively.
  • Agile Product Development: Work closely with Engineering, UX/UI, and other stakeholders in an agile environment to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Customer Advocacy, Business Intelligence, and Go-to-Market teams to drive product success across its lifecycle.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and evaluate product performance using data and customer feedback, iterating and optimizing for continued success.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor product managers and business analysts, fostering a high-performance, collaborative team culture.
  • Industry & Competitive Analysis: Stay ahead of market trends, customer expectations, and competitive offerings to inform product positioning and differentiation.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
  • Experience: 7-10 years of experience in product management, with a strong emphasis on SaaS or media-related solutions. Background in film production, live events, or custom creative services is highly desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and a strong understanding of digital workflows and agile methodologies.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer Focus: Deep empathy for customer needs and a proven track record of delivering user-centered solutions.
  • Analytical Skills: Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret insights and drive informed decision-making.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Film, Marketing, Business, Media Production, Computer Science, or a related field.

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.

The pay range for this position is below:
  • 200,000 - 220,000 per year in New York
Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
