Reporting to the Manager and Director of Facilities this position supervises the maintenance staff in its responsibility and accountability of operations of the Engineering Department. Performs a variety of duties in the repair, servicing, and general maintenance of the hospital physical plant and equipment. Carries out work orders for two facilities provided by the Director of the department. Reports to the appropriate management levels all incidents, progress reports, and equipment failures that pertain to the Hospital as a whole. Assists in planning and directing assigned job tasks.
Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
TJC and Life Safety Codes is strongly preferred. Must Possess knowledge of servicing Plumbing fixtures, HVAC, physical plant equipment, medical equipment, and emergency generator systems. Strong communication skills in both oral and written form. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Ability to prioritize and determine what parts are required for minor repairs and projects and evaluate whether repairs are internal or if an outside vendor is required. Able to successfully pass a test for color blindness.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 5 years experience in hospital maintenance is preferred.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS
Current California Drivers License Required.
