SUMMARY
Directly manages Manufacturing, Maintenance, EHS, Facilities Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering departments in production realization process to support customer requirements and achieve business plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safety
- Maintains safe, organized and environmentally compliant workplace
- Partners with Safety Director to lead Safety Committee and drive continuous improvement in systems and performance
- On-time Delivery
- Partners with Supply Chain function to drive adherence to Production Order Date Management systems
- Supports on-time launch of production orders and engages Operations team in daily dispatch adherence
- Leads TOC Constraint management to optimize product flow
- Quality
- Champions adherence to Quality systems and procedures in operations to ensure “Good Parts, On-time”
- Leads improvement efforts in collaboration with Engineering and Quality to improve first time yields and reduce production scrap
- Productivity
- Manages labor productivity in all departments to annual plan
- Cost and P&L Management
- Manages spending control to all Operational Department budgets and empowers Supervision to own
- Manages and forecasts both spending and earned hour performance to Plan
- Leadership
- Provides leadership in all critical functional areas to support
- Attracting and retaining employees
- Operational Execution
- Leading change
- Leads positive Labor Relations with Union bargaining units managing to the CBAs and Shop Work rules while working to optimize workforce flexibility and performance
- Manages collaboratively and indirectly throughout peer organizations to achieve annual G&O
- Provides leadership in all critical functional areas to support
- Equipment Uptime and Maintenance Systems
- Leads the Maintenance and Facilities team in the implementation and management of strong Maintenance systems leveraging SAP CMMS
- Manages annual CAPEX Plan development and execution
- SMART Continuous Improvement
- Provides leadership for the SMART Continuous program either as direct owner or peer contributor
- Ensures that Operations team is consistently developing and executing SMART projects to improve Safety, Improve Quality, Reduce waste/cost and improve productivity
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- BS in a Management or Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of production management experience
- LEAN Training Certification and implementation experience required
- Six Sigma Training Certification and implementation strongly preferred
- Background and Training in Talent Management strongly preferred
- Union Labor Relations experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems required
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Project preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
