Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Vice President of Finance to join our team. As a key leader in our finance department, you will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance to ensure the organization's financial health and integrity. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in accounting principles, financial management, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and monitor all aspects of the accounting department including but not limited to billing, financial statements, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax compliance.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and ensure all reports are compliant with GAAP and any government agencies.
- Establish and maintain an organized system of accounting policies and procedures to guide financial decisions.
- Report financial condition to senior management by analyzing financial reports and established budgets.
- Protect company operations by keeping financial and other sensitive information confidential.
- Maintain an organized filing system for all statements and transactions.
- Maintain accounting software regularly and ensure all information is entered accurately.
- Collect and analyze financial data to produce annual budgets and forecast and report any significant budget differences to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government entities.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Essential Skills:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) – Strong ability to develop financial models, forecasts, and budgeting strategies.
- Strategic Thinking – Ability to align financial goals with the company’s overall business strategy.
- Leadership & Team Management – Experience in leading and mentoring finance teams, including controllers, analysts, and accounting staff.
- Risk Management – Proficiency in identifying financial risks, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Accounting & Compliance Knowledge – Understanding of GAAP, IFRS, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Data-Driven Decision Making – Ability to analyze financial data and market trends to drive business decisions.
- Operational Efficiency – Skills in optimizing financial processes, reducing costs, and improving profitability.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management – Strong ability to communicate financial insights to executives, board members, and investors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred but not required.
- 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a senior finance or executive role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for financial modeling, reporting, and presentations.
- Experience with QuickBooks is required; proficiency in additional financial software and operating systems is preferred.
- Experience with ERP implementation is preferred but not required.
