Summary/Objective
The Commercial Department Manager (CDM) will lead the commercial department team members in the areas of renewal management, and client servicing. The CDM will participate in strategic operational functions within the department to advance the knowledge of team members. The CDM will add value and profitability to Single Source Insurance while moving the agency forward to accomplish the strategic mission of the company.

- Oversee proper input of policy information in Vertafore/AMS 360
- Tracking of new, renewed and cancelled accounts
- Successfully pull reports including renewal lists
- Track and report on monthly and overall retention
- Provide Instruction and Correction to Commercial Lines Team members in areas related to properly following company and department procedures and agency protocols.
- Track team member progress on client accounts to ensure accuracy and timely completeness.
- Keep up to date on industry changes and inform the team.
- Monitor carrier updates to ensure most profitability on lines of business.
- Present department summaries to executive team as requested to apprise of department issues and achievements and report status updates.
- Attend Continuing Education classes and Professional advancement education to maintain all industry licenses and advance individual learning and enhance management skills.
- Assisting Human Resources in periodic reviews for department staff
- Conduct disciplinary reviews and performance improvement plans when required.
- Assist HR in job descriptions, intern objectives and recruiting efforts/interviews for department team members.
- View, accept or deny time off requests from team members in a timely manner.
- Represent the company and department in a professional and positive manner in relations with other personnel, customers, vendors, and marketers.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some overtime may be required. Some weekend event participation may be required.
Required Education and Experience
220 Insurance License
4 years of insurance agency experience
Experience with Vertafore AMS 360 platform
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Preferred Education and Experience
4 Year college degree in risk management, business or related field
Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
