Lab Technician

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Lab Technician to join a dynamic team in Theodore, AL. This role is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Summary: Responsible for executing the daily functions of the Specialty Methacrylates Laboratory and ensuring Quality Control services for the MMAT Production Unit remain uninterrupted.

Responsibilities:

· Perform job functions by all regulatory requirements (OSHA, ADEM, DOT, etc.)

· Analyze raw material, in-process, and final products for conformity to material specifications by SP Lab procedures.

· Perform QC analytics via GC, HPLC, and IC, utilizing an array of detectors including UV, flame-ionization, and electro-chemical, as well as a variety of other laboratory equipment such as balances, refractometers, titrators, spectrophotometers, and colorimeters.

· Provide PTO coverage for Laboratory Technicians and coordinate with Production Staff to ensure analytical services remain uninterrupted.

· Record analytical results for all testing in Excel and SAP.

· Prepare product samples to be shipped via DOT regulations.

· Maintain a tidy working environment, ensure all chemical waste is disposed of by government regulations and transport reagents and produce chemicals safely as needed.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field, minimum. Ability to perform the shift schedule and flexibility to cover PTO or change shifts as needed.

· Reliable and quick learner with a basic knowledge of analytical techniques and laboratory practices.

· Familiar with basic laboratory/industrial regulatory and safety requirements.

· Available to work a 12-hour day shift rotation (5 AM-5 PM, including weekends).
