What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Painter/Blaster position at Skillforce?
We are currently hiring for Industrial Painters/Blasters in Richmond, VA. The ideal Industrial Painter/Blaster candidate has at least 2 years experience painting in an industrial setting and is comfortable with local travel. There is a per diem for local travel to be discussed. Pay is $24 - $28 per hour based on skill set and experience.
Industrial Painter/Blaster Responsibilities:
Clean and prepare surfaces for painting and blasting.
Remove contaminants and mask areas not requiring treatment.
Operate sandblasting equipment and select appropriate media.
Monitor equipment for effective performance.
Apply coatings using various methods (spray, brush, roller).
Ensure consistent finish and thickness.
Inspect work for quality compliance and perform touch-ups as necessary.
Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Report hazards to management.
Maintain equipment and working area; manage supply inventory.
Industrial Painter/Blaster Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an industrial painter and blaster
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and safety procedures
- Familiarity with abrasive blasting equipment and techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Able to travel locally as needed
- Your own reliable transportation
