What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Security Officer position at Sky River Casino?
A Lead Officer of Security is responsible for training the new officers with the daily responsibilities of the Security Department.
Also responsible for assisting on-duty shift management as needed.
- Trains, and evaluates security staff to ensure employees receive necessary guidance to accomplish established objectives in accordance with departmental standards.
- Conducts training classes on various topics such as CPR, Fire Fighting & Response, First-Aid, and general security procedures to ensure the security and protection of assets, patrons/guests, and team members.
- Reports training progress to the Training Coordinator/Supervisor
- Provides remedial training to officers as needed
- Assists the department ensuring that proper arrest procedures and detainment techniques are carried out involving violations of civil or company laws or procedures; assists various local, state, and federal authorities in various activities and investigations to ensure that procedures and laws are observed.
- Assists the Department Training Coordinator/Supervisor in delivery of training materials to officers
- Resolves customer complaints and ensures that all areas of proper customer service area adhered too.
- Provides support to the department in the event of troublesome terminations, thefts, investigations, and procedures as requested.
- Ensures all proper procedures for Games Department are correctly implemented and maintained (i.e., fills, credits, transfers, pit boxes, drops, etc.)
- Writes security incidents reports in the iTrak system as necessary.
- Perform physical escorts, arrests of non-compliant guests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Previous security experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a casino resort preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Basic knowledge of California and Tribal civil and criminal laws.
- Knowledge and understanding of electronic, video and alarm functions.
- Knowledge and understanding of California and Tribal laws concerning powers of arrest.
- Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical with an occupational health professional.
- Must be capable of carrying out the physical responsibilities associated with a Security Officer role.
- Must be able to pass a drug test that includes testing for THC.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
