Business Development Manager (Residential Construction)
Skycrest Homes is seeking a proactive, well-connected, and relationship-driven Business Development
Manager to lead the charge in building strategic partnerships with residential architects/Interior Designers
throughout the northwest Chicago suburbs and surrounding areas.
The primary goal of this role is to create new relationships with architects/Interior Designers whose clients
do not yet have a builder or contractor, with the ultimate objective of earning the opportunity to bid on their
projects.
This is a business development role rooted in trust, credibility, and consistent follow-through. You will be
the face of Skycrest Homes to the architectural community, positioning us as the builder of choice for their
residential projects.
Skycrest Homes is a premier custom home builder and remodeling specialist dedicated to creating
exceptional living spaces for our clients. With a focus on quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction, we
specialize in custom homes, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and other home remodeling projects. We
are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales and Marketing Representative to join our team
and play a vital role in driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and engage with residential architects/Interior Designers who are not yet connected with
a preferred builder.
Create and cultivate new relationships on behalf of Skycrest Homes with the express goal of
being invited to bid on upcoming projects.
Actively network and prospect through in-person meetings, phone outreach, events, and local
industry groups.
Present Skycrest Homes' capabilities and building approach in a way that builds confidence
and positions us as a trusted partner to architects and their clients.
Build a pipeline of potential referral sources and track opportunities from initial contact through
bid submission.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure we respond promptly and professionally to project
opportunities generated through these relationships.
Gather feedback and insights from architects to help Skycrest continuously improve its
outreach, service offering, and client experience.
Maintain clear records of outreach activity, relationship progress, and bidding opportunities in
CRM or tracking systems.
Qualifications
3 years of experience in business development, relationship management, or outside
salespreferably in the construction, architecture, or real estate industries.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a polished, professional demeanor.
Ability to open doors, earn trust quickly, and build long-term rapport.
Comfortable representing a high-end, custom builder to design professionals and their clients.
Self-motivated and accountable, with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Proficient with CRM tools and managing a structured outreach process.
Having an existing network of architects or interior designers is a strong plus.
Background in residential construction, architecture, or design industry preferred.
Compensation:
$85,000 - $95,000 based on experience
