Slate is looking for a Workday HCM Specialist - Human Resources Lead to join our growing HR team. In this highly dynamic and visible role, you will be responsible for leading the design and configuration, defining the access control, coordinating integrations, and managing the implementation of Workday HCM system. You will act as a key partner to HR process owners and colleagues in the development of modern and innovative HCM solutions. You will be responsible for the HCM strategy as the company grows and evolves. This position reports directly to the CHRO. The role offers a balance of strategic opportunity to help drive our HR technology initiatives throughout our organization aligned to the business plan, and significant operational responsibility and execution. You will also lead the reporting, dashboard adoption and use of AI tools within Workday HCM for the organization.

Partnering with HR process owners, IT and functional experts to lead and execute the implementation of Workday HCM system for the company and ensure that the system meets the business needs and requirements of the organization:
- Provided subject matter expertise and functional leadership on HCM system.
- Gather process and technical requirements, facilitate business process discussions, map them to the product functionality, and lead the solution design, architecture and documentation.
- Perform fit gap analysis, configuration, testing, implementation, end user support, post-implementation, and release cycle management activities.
- Partner with stakeholders and vendors to develop, troubleshoot, and deploy technical system integrations of varying complexity.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy and provide support to end-users in resolving production support issues related to the HCM system.
- Analyze and optimize HCM HR processes and system workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Create and maintain system documentation, including user guides, training materials, and system configuration documentation.
- Train team members and client on HCM functionality, concepts, and processes.
- Develop reporting strategy using various tools available including dashboards.
- Review and test HCM release enhancements, identify where the organization can benefit and embrace new functionality.
- Perform change control in collaboration with IT to monitor scope and requirements.
- Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering, HR, Business, IT, related field or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of working within SaaS HCM platform - Workday.
- 5 years of experience deploying Workday HCM reporting capabilities.
- Experience launching a new platform including configuration, design/specification, development, test, integrations, training and support with at least 2 full life cycle implementations.
- Experience managing projects, leading teams and driving their work to ensure project timelines are met, including monitoring for project issues and sound judgement for escalation.
- Hands on experience with SaaS Workday HCM platforms configuration.
- Strong relationship-building skills to work collaboratively with diverse functional groups, including technical staff, senior management, and third parties.
- Able to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization, both in writing and verbally.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred.
- Formal business process improvement methodology certification (e.g. Kaizen, Lean, or Six Sigma training) preferred.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.
