Position Summary :
The Quality / Engineering Technician will support the Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams in ensuring the products (and diagnostic services) meet defined standards of quality and reliability. The Technician will also support new Engineering “proof of concepts” and production “prototypes,” conduct tests and inspections, augment training on new / existing processes, and support quality procedures to assess product performance and ensure compliance with SmartCover standards. The ability to interpret technical specifications and requirements and document them is critical.
Job Duties :
1. Fabricate and Assemble Engineering “Proof of Concepts” and Production “Prototypes”
- Prepare and maintain detailed test setups and equipment (i.e., this will require working with engineering documents and demonstrating superior electronics / mechanical assembly skills)
2. Testing and Evaluation : conduct functional, performance, and reliability tests (i.e., ALT, bench) on electronic components and products to meet predefined specifications

Competencies needed to support the following Core Values
Education Requirements :
An associate’s degree in Electronics Technology / Quality Engineering or a related field is required (or equivalent experience - 3 years of experience in an Engineering / Quality Technician role in electronics); a bachelor’s degree is preferred
Familiar with software such as Microsoft Suite and Google tools
Working Conditions :
The role primarily involves working in an electronics testing lab environment
Intermittent, controlled exposure to Returned Materials from sewer systems
Occasional lifting of equipment or components may be required
Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime as needed, and some limited travel
