Role Buyer / Procurement Officer

Location Oak brook, IL 60523 (Hybrid 2 days/week)

Roles & Responsibilities -

A VERY high demanding & high performing team, need individuals who are self-starters, able to hit the ground running asap. SAP and excel (think pivots/vlookups/macros etc) MANDATORY (Client will train on any homegrown systems). Background in procurement, supply chain, purchasing mandatory (at a global level highly preferred).

• Activities individuals will perform as part of their job duties: analysis (data science, data analytics), resourcing actions, supplier negotiations, surcharge management, reporting, payment resolutions, WMF (waste minimization fund) mitigations, market test and tech reviews.
• Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs
• Collaborate with suppliers to assure the quality of their products, materials, components and/or operations and develop supply recommendations
• Ensure suppliers can meet forecasted demand
• May coordinate efforts in the reduction of purchasing/engineering costs and establish cost for new products
• May participate in design and/or technical reviews
• May select, recommend and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service

Must-Have Skills:

• SAP and advanced Excel (pivots, vlookups, macros)
• Background in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing (global experience preferred)
• Ability to read blueprints/specs, perform technical reviews, and navigate web-based info
• Strong self-starters who can hit the ground running
