About SME Co-op Program
The SME Co-op program is designed to provide students with valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry. As a co-op participant, you will gain exposure to real-world projects and work closely with experienced professionals.
No minimum number of years of college education is required to apply for our Co-op program.
Our Summer Internships are only available to those who have previously completed a Co-op with SME.
Key Responsibilities
- Support field construction quality control activities by reviewing project plans and documents.
- Evaluate and assess project materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Work collaboratively with SME Team Members and contractors to achieve project goals.
Tech Skills Required
- Basic computer literacy: Our co-ops must be comfortable using computers and software essential for in-field work, company communications, and report generation.
- A good driving record and ability to lift and carry equipment and samples weighing up to 50-60 pounds.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, and/or kneel for long periods.
- Valid driver's license and experience driving in the U.S.
