JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Department: Fabrication Department
JOB PURPOSE
The Press Brake Operator plays a crucial role in the manufacturing and production process by operating and maintaining press brake machines. They are responsible for bending and shaping metal plates and sheets according to specifications and blueprints. Press Brake Operators ensure that the finished products meet quality standards and adhere to customer requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
- Proficiency in operating press brake machines and knowledge of various bending techniques.
- Strong mathematical skills to accurately measure and calculate dimensions for bending operations.
- Attention to detail and the ability to ensure precision and accuracy in all bending and shaping tasks.
- Knowledge of different types of metals, their characteristics, and how they respond to bending operations.
- Good problem-solving skills to identify and resolve minor machine issues.
- Ability to layout, cut, form, fit and install assemblies made from a variety of materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.) when provided with blueprints, samples or verbal instructions.
- Good mathematical skills and the ability to create basic sketches with acknowledge of drafting principals.
- Good general mechanical aptitude, including the skill to use basic hand and measuring tools, and safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Ability to read and interpret Blueprints, drawing, specifications, manuals and competently inspect all products manufactured.
· Other duties as assigned by competent authority.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Previous experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Motivated, punctual and have good work ethic, such as reliability and dependability.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Must be able to understand, read and speak the English language.
- Employees are to supply required tools and ANSI approved toe protection footwear.
Education/Licensure/Credentials
Preferred: High School Diploma or G.E.D. and certificate from an accredited technical or trade school.
Experience
Required: Good mechanical aptitude, including the ability to use basic hand and measuring tools.
Preferred: Strong working knowledge of the heavy truck industry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
