Job Title: Snack in a Backpack Program Coordinator
Pay: Starting at $18 per hour
Probationary Period: 30 days; 6-month review with potential for pay increase
Work Schedule: Onsite at Snack offices in Downtown Blue Ridge
- Tuesday–Thursday, 8 AM – 5 PM, or
- Tuesday–Friday, 8 AM – 3 PM
Lunch: 1 hour (unpaid)
Hours: 24 per week (paid biweekly)
Reports To: Executive Director and Board
Introduction:
Snack in a Backpack is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our nonprofit organization! This well-established program helps Fannin County children access nutritious, easy-to-prepare food for weekends, school breaks, and summer vacation. The ideal candidate is passionate about our mission and eager to grow within the organization. This is a year-round position with opportunities for advancement!
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have a background in nonprofit work, a passion for community outreach, and a strong drive to make a difference. This individual must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively. The role requires a self-starter who thrives on challenges and multitasking.
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for daily administrative tasks and should be proficient in various technological platforms. The role involves a high level of community engagement, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects on varied timelines. The candidate will handle all interactions and projects with a gratitude-service mindset, warm professionalism, and attention to detail.
Additionally, this individual will manage, organize, and direct volunteers during various timelines and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support, including filing, donor acknowledgments, and responding to inquiries.
- Run daily/weekly errands; requires reliable transportation to visit post office, bank, etc. (mileage reimbursed).
- Support marketing, outreach, and communications for various initiatives. Create, format, and schedule emails to volunteers and donors; assist with various program announcements.
- Maintain and update donor and volunteer contact databases.
- Capture photos and post to Facebook with engaging content & monitor online interactions.
- Keep the organization's website content current and aligned with goals.
- Organization utilizes Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Facebook, Constant Contact, GoDaddy, and Canva. Competency across these platforms is a bonus.
- Set up and organize workstations; ensure cleanliness of facility and proper inventory. Deliver instructions to volunteers with warmth and gratitude.
- Assist with planning and coordinating event logistics. Evening and weekend availability may be required for occasional events.
- Perform other duties as needed to support organizational operations.
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds independently and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.
