Program Coordinator for Summer Camp
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Coordinator to join our team at the YMCA. As a key member of our summer camp staff, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the daily camp program and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule daily activities and create tailored schedules based on children's age groups and interests.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that prioritizes camper safety and fun.
- Demonstrate leadership skills by participating in and coordinating various camp activities and events.
- Schedule duty rosters and staff time off while maintaining a smooth operation of the camp.
- Provide first aid or care for injuries as needed, utilizing certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and O2.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 20 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
- At least one year of experience in resident camps with supervisory experience highly desired.
- A valid driver's license with F4 Classification is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, campers, and parents.
- Leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills, with a good understanding of risk management and safety protocols.
Physical Demands:
- The ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including hiking, running, crouching, and carrying children.
- Walking up to 5 miles per day, stooping, standing, hearing, seeing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Training:
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and O2 will be provided by the YMCA upon hire.
- New Employee Orientation and online safety courses are required within one week of hire.
