Overview
We at Snap Dragon are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cocktail crafting and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. We are a small, local owned business with a big heart and very dedicated to what we do. As a Bartender, during peak summer hours you will work alongside another bartender and a barback for support.
The shifts are often split with an opening bartender and a closing bartender, the opening shift is from 2:15pm to 6pm while the closing shift is from 5pm to 9pm. Weekend hours differ, and it is expected for bartenders to remain on the clock in the given case of a rush. We do not leave our teammates alone.
We are closed on Sundays.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age to qualify for a position.
Job Duties
- Welcoming customers, greet regular guests by name, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking orders.
- Be knowledgeable of all menu items, their contents and preparation methods in order to accurately respond to customer questions, make menu recommendations and upsell where appropriate.
- Bartenders are also servers, you are expected to greet guests and continue to check on your tables as the night goes.
- Phone call orders are also necessary to be taken.
- Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
- Provide responsible service of alcoholic beverages, complying with all local, state, and federal liquor laws and food safety regulations.
- Handle multiple customers and tasks in an efficient manner, clean and clear tables.
- Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
- Educate self and assist co-workers in understanding basic “bar vocabulary”, i.e., wine and liquor varieties, types of mixed drinks, etc.
- Perform all reasonable tasks assigned by management.
- Maintain positive guest and inter departmental relations at all times.
- Engage with customers to provide excellent hospitality, taking orders, and making recommendations based on preferences.
- Monitor inventory levels of beverages and supplies, restocking as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally and efficiently to enhance guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bartending or a similar role is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with cash register operations, POS systems, and retail math skills for accurate transactions.
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple orders during peak hours.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on hospitality and customer service excellence.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is desirable but not required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including late nights, weekends (Fri or Sat), and holidays as required by the business needs.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- College Degree preferred but not required

We maintain a drug-free workplace.
- We expect all employees to be free of substances while on the clock.
- Smoke breaks are not allowed due to the smell of tobacco and to maintain a clean presentation for our guests.
- As a small locally owned business we do take our work and what we do very seriously, constant breaks are not allowed. You are expected to work your full shift without any interruptions or breaks.
- Vaping is not allowed in the premises, eating is not allowed while working. It is very unprofessional to eat while working, we want our guests to have the best experience we can give.
- Cellphone usage is limited to emergencies to maintain quality and a fast-pace while working.
- Bathroom breaks are fine, unless it constantly happens throughout the day. If you have any medical issues or concerns please share them with the owners or the hiring manager.
Pay Range
The approximate pay range for this position is $10.00 - $12.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position. Tips are not included in the final pay range since they do vary, all tips of the day are split between the two bartenders on shift and a portion of the sales will go towards the barback.
Business Hours
As mentioned above the shifts are often split. Open shift and Closing shift, each shift has its own set of duties.
We are open Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 9pm.
Friday and Saturday from 3pm to 11pm.
