Job Description
The Interiors Project Manager plays a pivotal role in driving project success, overseeing the end-to-end project process, and coordinating the design team's efforts. Additionally, this key position is responsible for mentoring and developing the skills of Junior Designers and Interior Designers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth within the team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of the assigned projects
- Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client's satisfaction
- Actively manages staffing resources, client budgets, schedules, programs, project communications, and documentation
- Estimates fees, determines scope of work and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts
- Under minimal supervision manages multiple projects and a project; delegate and assign tasks appropriately
- Lead a team of professionally and technically competent people of various skill level and is responsible for team performance of services in accordance with the Client Agreement
- Manage activities of direct reports engaged in preparing interior drawings and specifications
- Oversee the preparation of documents to ensure compliance with design intent and contracted deliverables
- Ensure the project team meets projected milestones
- Follow projects through approvals and oversee periodic on-site observations of work during installation of interior finishes and materials
- Exercise professional judgment in areas of contractual liability
- Participates in company promotional/marketing activities including client database, business development, trade shows where required
- Assist with training programs to enhance understanding of our core markets.
- Build and mentor interior design staff and train successor
- Facilitate professional development of interior design staff
- Provide input, recommendations and assistance regarding employee retention, discipline, coaching, counseling and training and assist with recruiting efforts.
- Experienced Project Manager with professional degree in Interior Design or equivalent, from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in commercial interiors, preferably in the core markets
- Motivated team player with high level of initiative and self-motivation
- Creativity and skills in management, with a focus on hospitality and multifamily interiors
- Excellent knowledge and experience in the projects/property industry sector
- Excellent leadership and group communication skills
- Attention to detail in all elements of interior project management, especially in project administration
- Strong computer literacy (particularly experience in CAD, various project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit a plus)
- Motivated team player with excellent level of initiative and self-motivation
- Personal commitment to professional development outside of company initiatives
