Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the data integrity of the companies HRIS software, related HR software and employee personnel files
- Ensures company policies, procedures and HR reporting are in compliance
- Identifies staff vacancies and recruits, interviews, and select applicants
- Conducts new hire orientation and processes all new hire paperwork within the company HRIS system
- Responsible for benefit administration which includes but not limited to company sponsored benefit plans and all leaves of absence
- Manages the annual benefits open enrollment with company vendors
- Manages and coordinates leave management process and updates in the HRIS system
- Conducts all necessary off boarding tasks.
- Will be the subject matter expert and advisor as it pertains to company policy interpretation and employee relation issues
- Serves as the company representative in unemployment hearings, workers compensation hearing and company related investigations
- Oversees and provides back up support with regards to processing payroll
- Works with Safety Director and the organization as it applies to OSHA and Human Resources job function
- Adequately train employees in various aspects as it relates to organizational safety; documenting employee participation
- Perform safety evaluations and suggesting recommendations for prevention
- Responsible for OSHA record-keeping and reporting; Workers Compensation incidents and reports.
Requirements
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field -or-
- 3 years Human Resources experience
License/Certification
- SHRM-CP certification preferred
Skills/Abilities
- Secure working knowledge of both New York State and Federal employment laws/practices/guidelines/regulations
- Excellent people management skills; strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong employee relations experience
- Attentive to detail; organized
- Ability to work independently
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related HRIS software (Paylocity preferred)
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred
