Position Summary
This is the most senior level secretarial position, and while it incorporates elements of other levels, it has a majority of effort associated with more complex and varied secretarial/administrative support services or program-related activities, including researching, analyzing and compiling information to prepare reports. Identify alternative solutions to problems. Prepare clear, concise, thorough and accurate documents. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality of all information and records, including but not limited to financial data, budgetary information, projects, and investigations. Serve as primary support staff for an executive officer. The position has a high level of independence and a high degree of autonomy/responsibility for complex duties requiring independent judgment, discretion and initiative.

Supervision Exercised
- May coordinate assigned tasks and supervise youth workers.
- May delegate assignments and/or supervise administrative support employees.
- Perform duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant II, if applicable.
- Develop, prepare, and/or compose responses to memos and correspondence requiring research and analysis and exercise of judgment and discretion; routinely write, edit, and submit materials for internal/external communications.
- Establish, maintain, and update files, databases, records, and/or other documents; develop and maintain data, and perform routine analyses and calculations in the processing of data for recurring internal reports.
- Receive financial reports, investment reports and other confidential information from all tribal entities and outside vendors; distribute copies to Tribal Council and others as needed per the direction of the executive.
- Conduct on a recurring basis special projects and assignments as directed; collect, compile, and write updates and report on findings, including preparation of preliminary findings.
- Act with high degree of independence as liaison with inside and outside contacts and in preparing meeting materials, minutes, programs, updates, and other support functions related to work area.
- Provide assistance and/or coverage for other department administrative support employees, as appropriate.
- Department specific duties and responsibilities will be discussed and assigned by the immediate supervisor.

- Empowered to interact with associates within the organization, with Tribal Council members, tribal members, and with the general public to accomplish the objectives of the organization.
- Contact with governmental and regulatory agencies and senior executives in the organization.
- Associates Degree in Administrative Assistant Professional, Office Professions-Administrative Assistant, Business or related field.
- Four years progressive administrative support experience.
- Must be able to complete and pass a typing test at 35 wpm, with 70% accuracy.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license or pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
- Knowledge of casino and resort/hotel amenities.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, equipment, and computerized information systems.
- Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, and
- Ability to establish and maintain work relationships while representing the organization in a professional manner.
- Ability to lead and guide the work of others.
- Ability to plan, organize, schedule, coordinate, and make decisions and judgments relating to assigned projects.

- Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.

- Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
- Travel may be required.
