We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vice President of Manufacturing to join our growing team. This role requires a strategic leader with deep experience in manufacturing, supply chain management, and operational leadership within the enterprise hardware sector. The VP of Manufacturing will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality production of mobile devices. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes, drive continuous improvement, the VP of Manufacturing will support the company’s growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Own and oversee all aspects of manufacturing, working closely with partners to ensure that production meets quality, compliance, and efficiency standards.
- Act as a key stakeholder in structural MSA Development and all other contracts with the ODM/Suppliers
- Ensure effective integration with Product, S/W, and Quality Assurance teams during NPI to align on manufacturing plans, guidelines, and schedules plans
- Manage and ensure all manufacturing operations comply with industry regulations, certifications, and safety standards, including ISO, FCC, and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute strategies for optimizing supply chain efficiency, vendor performance, and cost management while mitigating risks associated with third-party manufacturing.
- Ensure manufacturing partners adhere to rigorous quality control processes, collaborating with engineering and product teams to enhance manufacturability and reduce defects.
- Primary point of contact and liaison to the ODMs manufacturing leadership team w/ travel to site locations as required.
- Ensure effective recording and collection of all device level manufacturing records to ensure and maintain thorough Device History Files (DHF).
- Lead operational audits and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, minimize waste, and streamline production workflows.
- Drive initiatives for cost reduction, margin improvement, and operational efficiency while maintaining product reliability and performance.
- Manage contract manufacturers, supply chain partners, and key vendors to ensure they meet company performance expectations, SLAs, and long-term strategic goals.
- Oversee inventory management, production planning, and procurement strategies to ensure alignment with business needs and customer demand.
- Develop and manage KPIs to track manufacturing performance, quality benchmarks, and supply chain effectiveness.
- Provide strategic leadership to the manufacturing and operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Key stakeholder in crisis management and risk mitigation strategies related to supply chain disruptions, manufacturing delays, or compliance challenges.
- Align with QA department initiatives and guidance to facilitate product quality testing and validations.
- Responsible for Part Number / SKU / Serial number generation and coordination.
- Employees will be required to adhere to Social Mobile’s information security policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related field required.
- 15 years of experience in manufacturing leadership (preferably in the enterprise hardware/mobile device industry)
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Six Sigma Black Belt, or Lean Certification (preferred).
- Proven track record in managing large-scale production and global supply chain operations.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers, ODMs, and EMS providers.
- Deep understanding of quality management systems (QMS), ISO certifications, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and P&L management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive operational efficiency and change management.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product development, sales, and executive leadership.
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software tools.
- Highly analytical and able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Exemplary attention to detail.
- Exhibits excellent problem resolution and critical thinking skills.
- Strong product and process knowledge.
