What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Workforce Education Strategist position at SOCIETY OF MANUFACTURING ENGINEERS?
The Workforce Education Strategist will have a dual role of growing the Workforce Education Group market as well as the Business & Industry Customized Training market. This role is responsible for developing and growing relationships with key workforce development training initiatives at the local, regional and state level to increase market penetration and link activities to those of Tooling U-SME as well as SME. In addition, this role will focus on developing and growing relationships with Business & Industry partners and other customized training organizations. This role will generate new opportunities through prospecting, in-person meetings. BlueJeans sessions, trade shows and speaking engagements. This role will also be responsible for generating new business as well as maintaining and growing current relationships already established.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
- Prospect, develop and lead relationship development at the local, regional, and state level to drive collaboration and link Tooling U-SME and SME efforts with their workforce development initiatives.
- Vet potential projects for those best aligned to Tooling U-SME & SME capabilities and work with the Workforce Education Group and corporate sales channels to bring those projects to closure.
- Develop relationships with Dean’s, Vice President’s, other executive staff, and customized training teams at Community Colleges & MEP’s, High Schools and other stakeholders to drive large grant, multi-school opportunities and growth of existing WEG customers with appropriate WEG sales rep.
- Lead large scale Workforce Development opportunities to ensure they are properly vetted, and all external parties know their roles, responsibilities and timelines.
- Key presenter at workforce development related conferences where government, workforce and education are the prime audiences.
- Collaborate with appropriate internal team members to research and qualify large scale initiatives as part of business development activities.
- Researching all community college customized training programs throughout the country and develop new relationships through an outbound prospecting, solution selling and face-to-face presentations to identify new customized training opportunities for the organization
- Manage discovery, contracts in terms of educational partnerships, pricing, negotiations, and territory strategy, design and management of customized training programs within assigned territory
- Achieving assigned sales targets within a monthly, quarterly and annual timeframe
- Understanding of funding streams within states which flow either directly to companies or through the state-wide community college systems
- Achieving assigned sales targets within a monthly, quarterly and annual timeframe
