Contract (mandatory) : 12 Months (Possible Extension)The Technical Associate will support the elemental analysis and separation MS groups within Analytical Sciences Laboratories in Wilmington, DE, providing analytical support for R&D, TS&D, and Manufacturing.Job Responsibilities : Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for elemental analysis (ICP / ICPMS) and separation MS (GPC / GC / LC / IC) using standard procedures (wet chemistry, microwave digestion).Acquire data and assess basic data quality.Perform routine operation and maintenance of instruments (ICP / GPC / GC / LC).Dispose of lab waste and maintain lab cleanliness following established protocols.Clean and restock lab areas as needed.Purchase routine lab supplies and reagents.Retrieve, move, and connect / disconnect cylinders for analysis.Ensure a safe working environment and promote a safety culture in the laboratory.Skills : Proficiency in sample preparation and experience with various lab equipment in a chemical laboratory setting.Hands-on experience with elemental analysis sample preparation methods, including acid digestion and microwave-assisted digestions.Proficient in Microsoft Office software.Prior experience in ICP / ICPMS and GPC / LC / GC / MS is preferred but not required; experience in an industrial analytical lab is a plus.Strong ability to work collaboratively under tight timelines and conflicting priorities.Education / Experience : B.S. in chemistry, materials science, physics, or engineering, or equivalent knowledge acquired through on-the-job training.
