Job Description
Job Title : Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Part-Time
Job Specialty : Long-Term Care (LTC) LPN
Job Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Night - 3x8-hour shifts, 11 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM
Guaranteed Hours : 24 hours per week
Experience : 1 year as an LPN
License : LPN Licensure
Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS)
Must-Have : High School Diploma or GED
Job Description :
- Provide direct and indirect resident care under the direction of licensed nursing personnel within the scope of practice as defined by the certification.
- Meet resident's activities of daily living (ADL) needs as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence / catheter care, elimination / toileting needs, turning / positioning, and skin care. Complete documentation per protocol.
- Maintain resident's environment and safety as outlined in the plan of care, including answering call lights and alarms promptly, provision of safety mats and low beds, restraint use under the direction of Nursing, maintaining cleanliness of unit, behavior and fall prevention, and appropriate use of equipment. Complete documentation per protocol.
- Meet resident's nutritional needs as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures, including meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and nourishments. Honor resident's preferences and choices. Complete documentation per protocol.
- Meet resident's rehabilitative needs as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures, including range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and use of assistive devices. Complete documentation per protocol.
- Report resident's rights, refusals, and concerns to Charge and / or Supervising Nurse in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures. Identify and report changes in resident's physical, emotional, and psychosocial status to Charge Nurse promptly. Anticipate occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens; required tasks may involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
